Nicola Galli's new artistic project continues the research that the choreographer has been conducting since 2010 on the existence of the contemporary human being.
The increasingly strong necessity to redefine collectively a critical positioning of our living and to activate an ecosystemic thought that renovates the invisible relations that connect things leads the choreographer to investigate the shipwreck as a condition of our present, in order to look closely at the ruins of the world.
The project is inspired by the novel ‘Lord of the Flies’ by William Golding and stages a free and critical re-interpretation of it by translating the original tale, place and time.
The traces of the island, the shore and the young castaways dissolve, giving way to a wreckage that becomes a building and a stronghold inhabited by a group of adults who, driven by the desire to imagine a new future, rebel against the return and become creators of a new living. In the interweaving of dance, music and light installation, the stage is transformed into a disco at the twilight of the world: a beating, rhythmic rain of lights, sounds and voices under which the bodies experience the lysergic, cathartic and comforting power of dance, relive the nightmares and hallucinations of the novel in the form of a memory, and arrive at a personal and collective inner transformation.
