"Nicola Galli’s new work, Diluvio, unfolds as a counterpoint to his own artistic trajectory, defining itself through contrast with a dark,
weighty, almost sorrowful physical language that ultimately leads us toward a cathartic participation in the work—toward its resurrection.
Perhaps the most spiritual work by the Ravenna-based artist, shaped by a tendency towards the collective
dimension of ritual, where mystery meets traces of contemporary esotericism. The result is a kind of syncretism between ancient traditions and technology,
a detour that brings us back to the present day—to the days after the flood (to borrow Pasquale Panella’s phrase). It evokes a form of
neo-paganism assembled from an array of implements, including natural objects, seals, and bells: materials whose surfaces are worn
smooth between sound and noise in an initiation rite that comes strikingly close to the atmosphere of a rave.
